Frequently asked questions
What is a typical lead time for a flow meter?
Typical lead time is 2-3 weeks from receipt of order. We hold good stock of most products so can expedite shipment if required. If a special calibration is required in a user specific fuel or fluid this could increase the lead time depending on our calibration laboratories availability.
What orientation must the flow meter be fitted?
For most of the Flowsonic® family (LF, RealFlow, GT, GP, Sport, F1® Encrypted Reference Flow Meter etc.) there is no specific requirement to mount the flow meter in any particular orientation. The product has been designed to maintain its accuracy regardless of orientation or fitment.
For the Flowsonic® HF product, we suggest mounting the flow meter so that the transducers are horizontal and any potential air pockets self-vent when exposed to fluid flow.
Can Sentronics flow meters be submerged in fuel?
The Flowsonic® GP, Sport, and Formula 1® Encrypted Reference Flow Meter products can all be submerged in fuel to an atmospheric pressure of 1bar.
What liquids can Sentronics flow meters be calibrated in?
Sentronics can calibrate flow meters to measure all hydrocarbons, diesels, gasoline, eco-fuels, pure methanal, pure ethanol, ethanol/methanol blends. Please contact us if you have a particular fluid you would like us to calibrate against.
How are Sentronics flow meters calibrated?
We have dedicated in house calibration rigs that provide calibrations traceable to national standards. We also have the capability to perform ISO 17025 calibrations with our partnered calibration lab: Calibra Technology Ltd.
Can you provide a .dbc for the CANbus output?
Yes, we can. Please contact us by emailing support@sentronics.com and we will send this to you.
