Aviation
Our ultrasonic R&D team are experts in ultrasonic fluid monitoring and have extensive experience building and testing on high flow calibration rigs. We are equipped to develop the future of aviation fuel flow meters.
Key Benefits
Discover how our ultrasonic flow meters benefit your aviation application

Reduce fuel consumption
Ultrasonic flow meters are an ideal accompaniment to fuel consumption R&D tests for airframe manufacturers and jet engine manufacturers, including engine LTO emission testing in laboratory conditions.

Divert fuel away from leaks
With measurement rates of up to 2.2kHz, Sentronics' flow meters measure in real-time and enable engineers to preserve fuel in the event of a leak and can measure the fuel flow around aircraft.

Improve flight safety
Our flow meters feature industry-leading repeatability and measure in real-time for superior results. Early detection of fuel system issues and enhanced fuel consumption management enables pilots to make informed decisions.

Solid-State Design
With no moving parts, Sentronics’ ultrasonic flow metering technology is solid-state and can be manufactured in a robust titanium alloy. This design feature ensures there are no turbines or obstructions that could cause potential blockages and prevent access to critical fuel. The flow meters don’t suffer from mechanical wear resulting in virtually no accuracy drift.

Comprehensive In-House Testing Capabilities
We have experience developing advanced flow meters for testing and future development programs within the aviation sector and, with our patented technologies, we can be your technology partner. With testing conducted all under one roof in our UK R&D office, we have the team and facilities to construct bespoke advanced flow test rigs as part of developing new products for our customers. We have existing low flow rigs to high flow and high pressure testing rigs with products being put through their paces in environmental test chambers.

Wide Fuel Type Compatibility
Sentronics flow meters are compatible with a wide range of fuels, including Jet-A, avgas and biofuels. Flow meters are calibrated in the intended fluid type to achieve repeatability ±0.15% of reading.

Integrated Diagnostics
Our flow meters primarily measure the amount of fluid to pass through meter but are also equipped to measure fluid temperature, the speed of sound of the liquid, and signal attenuation to detect aeration with a fluid. With measurement rates of over 500Hz (achievable up to 2.2kHz on request), airframe manufacturers and jet engine manufacturers have access to precision real-time data.
