7 May 2026 – Following the introduction of Sentronics Limited’s RealFlow® d450 and d600 ultrasonic fuel flow meters to the global UAV market at DSEI 2025, the global specialist in ultrasonic flow measurement has today announced the release of its full RealFlow® D‑Series range. This next-generation, configurable family of ultrasonic fuel flow sensors has been developed to meet the evolving technical requirements of uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms and deliver laboratory‑grade measurement performance in the most demanding airborne environments.

Building on the industry interest seen at DSEI, the upgraded D‑Series represents the next phase in the development of Sentronics’ UAV fuel flow measurement technology. The platform has been designed to measure fuel consumption in real-world dynamic flight environments, where vibration, acceleration, and rapidly changing flow conditions pose significant challenges to sensing performance. The D‑Series offers a customisable range covering flow rates from 20 ml/min to 20 l/min, facilitating optimised solutions for a wide variety of UAV engine sizes and mission profiles. This flexibility enables OEMs and system integrators to select a fuel flow meter precisely matched to their application without compromise.

For integration into size‑ and weight‑constrained platforms, the RealFlow® D‑Series features a compact, lightweight form factor that fits within the palm of a hand while maintaining robust performance suitable for both defence and commercial UAV applications. The architecture enables the sensor specification to be easily tailored to platform design, fuel system layout, and mission requirements.

Built on Sentronics’ patented measurement algorithm and design features, the D‑Series contains no moving parts with zero flow impedance and pressure drop, ensuring fuel system integrity and consistent performance. The sensors achieve measurement accuracies better than ±0.75% of reading across a wide flow range, fluid temperatures, and fuel compositions, providing high-fidelity fuel consumption data for endurance modelling, flight path optimisation, and system validation.

A defining feature of the D‑Series is its multi‑fuel compatibility, enabling accurate operation across gasoline, kerosene, diesel, Jet-A1 and JP fuels without recalibration or fuel‑specific parts and materials. This capability supports UAV platforms operating in diverse climatic and logistical conditions while maintaining consistent measurement performance.

Engineered with defence and commercial UAV applications in mind, the RealFlow® D‑Series is designed to meet relevant military environmental and EMC standards while retaining a Low- SWaP footprint suitable for platforms ranging from compact tactical UAVs to larger systems focussed on endurance or high payloads.
